I bet he put up a good fight. Nice catch, Daniel. I think that ties my best bass this year! Caught it at Silver fishing topwater just after sunset. Couldn't see a thing but heard the loud splash and felt my pole bend over.

Been itching to get back out on the water. Do any of you ever need a bass fishing partner?? I don't actually fish with anyone who is a local. Having to learn this place the hard way. 🙂

Donny, I’ve heard great things about Silver. I don’t think there is anything like topwater; it’s so exciting.

I often go out by myself if my wife is working, or my parents don’t want to go. Where exactly do you live around here?

Daniel, I live in Cheney. Still kind of new to fishing around here and getting a feel for the lakes. I usually tag a friend along, but all my friends are out of towners going to school here.

I like Silver lake, but it has been hot and cold the past month. I’ve had a couple of 4 lb bass and spotted a couple of others. I haven’t been catching them in great number on this lake.

Getting the itch to hit the water today.

Donny, I can’t believe I did not check my email this morning. I headed out to Silver to check it out, but the lake didn’t offer me anything. ( I did spot a tiger muskie swimming in the shallows).

I see what you mean about the lake being hot/cold. That might be a tough one to figure out!

Anyways, I’ll email you if I confirm a date for my next trip. Maybe we could go catch some bass together sometime.

    Take care.

    Dude, I’m down for that!

Coincidentally, I went out on Silver yesterday too! We went around 5. Wish I could say we tore them out of the frame, Daniel. It’s… It was tough. My friends were on light tackle (one being a topwater shad rap). Saw a mean looking swarm of about 10 baby bass chasing that thing. They caught a few small bass around there.

Meanwhile, I got the cold shoulder all evening. I threw brush hawgs, spinnerbaits, and a buzzbait at sunset. Nothin’ doin’. At least till one of us said the magic words “Let’s head back.” That’s when I caught a fatso of a runt. She was pushing 2 lbs at only 14″.

    Micro-piggy. 🙂

    Hey Donny,

I really wish I would have checked, but I actually headed out of there around 2 p.m. The only thing I caught was a sunburn!

Your catch was certainly a chunk, at 14″ they’re usually only a pound-and-a-half or so.

Great to hear you had some success!
