Strike King KVD Dream Shot

Who’s better than Kevin VanDam? Or what’s better than the Strike King Dream Shot? Not many can match the sheer success that I have had with this bait – in one fishing season!

This dropshot lure is dynamic and constantly catching fish. Chances are, you have heard of this bait from pros such as KVD, Jonathon VanDam, Mark Zona and Greg Hackney. If you own a spinning reel or a dropshot setup, then you better take a few minutes of your time to try this soft plastic from Strike King!

So what is the big deal with finesse baits during the summer? They attract anything willing to look at your bait. While there is a little luck involved, choosing the right bait and correct color will increase your chances of catching larger fish. Matching the hatch, or giving fish a look at something new will always increase your odds of a picture-worthy catch. Are you a tournament angler? If so, your competition will surely be fishing this bait this year or next.

When it comes to durability, the KVD Dream Shot is average. It is neither too soft, nor too stiff. The action is just right, especially when you’re speaking of soft plastics in the four-inch range. From small minnows to worms to other types of prey, the Dream Shot really is a perfect choice for year round dropshotting. If you chase smallmouth, largemouth, or spotted bass, I recommend you give one package a try. For $4.59 (10 per package), Strike King has included a couple of extra baits when being compared to the competition.

For anglers looking for a recommendation, I have had the most success with the KVD Dream Shot in green pumpkin and KVD Magic. Nose hook it on a #2 Owner Mosquito hook, fish is slow and wait for the line to get tight. Looking for a slightly larger offering? Strike King has you covered with the KVD Magnum Dream Shot, the five-inch version!
