The Spokane Bass Club is the newest tournament organization to hit the Pacific Northwest. Formed by Club President Tyler Brinks, the newest bass fishing tournament circuit will focus its energy on local lakes – those such as Long Lake, Loon Lake, Hayden, Coeur D’Alene and many others. By keeping the tournaments in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, Spokane Bass Club President Tyler Brinks stated, “I think the biggest factor in deciding to start a club was the fact that the bigger tournaments are held so far away. During the long drive to the events, we would pass by several of the best bass fishing lakes in the state.”
When asked about costs, Tyler Brinks went on to say, “Aside from that is the economy. People can’t afford to fill up their trucks and boats with current gas prices.”
While details of the club, schedule and other important pieces of information are still in the planning phase, Tyler wants to get the word out so that Spokane/Coeur D’Alene residents can start planning their fishing events for 2013. The best aspect for die-hard anglers is that Spokane Bass Club will keep in mind the other area tournament organizations to avoid conflicting schedules.
“Since we are new, and also want to fish as many other events as possible, we are going to wait to decide our exact schedule. We have our ideal schedule but are willing to be flexible with dates for either Saturday or Sunday events so we all can fish more, “ said Tyler.
