Buff Water Gloves Review

As a fair skinned angler, I have seen my fair share of sun burns. I will be honest with you – I am terrible about putting on sunscreen. It is not because I enjoy reddened skin or painful showers, but because sunscreen is not the most accomplished fish attractant. I believe it repels success due its overall chemical makeup – alcohol, acid and tons of other ingredients.

Buff designed the Water Glove with the highest Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) to ensure maximum safeguard from the sun. 50 UPF is considered the highest available rating that covers both UVA and UVB wavelengths. Overall, the Water Glove blocks 98% of the sun’s rays, without disintegrating my chances of success on the water.

Bass fishing can be a tough sport. My trips on average are 8-hour days, rain or shine. As I grow more conscious of taking care of my skin (comes with age, or so I’m told) Buff came into my life at an appropriate time. The primary material is 95% Nylon and 5% Lycra, with the screen printing on the palm being 100% Silicone.

After fishing with Buff’s Water Gloves over the past couple months, I’m most impressed with their lightweight construction and overall drying time. Once completely soaked, the gloves take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to dry in 70° weather, that is of course if you have not had to re-soak the glove.

Ultimately, the Water Gloves are not intrusive while casting or reeling. Easy on, easy off and machine washable –a unique product that has taken me by surprise. With only a few care instructions, Buff has given me a reliable product that is effective and easily maintained. Be sure to take a look at my photos and videos below for the Water Gloves in action.
